About Greg Fitzsimmons
Greg Fitzsimmons is a NYC-based stand up comedian, podcaster, actor,
author and award winning television writer, widely known for his Sirus XM Howard 101 show The Greg Fitzsimmons Show (2006-2018), frequent appearances on The Howard Stern Show in the 90s/00s, current
podcasts Fitzdog Radio, Sunday Papers with Mike Gibbons, Childish with Alison Rosen, and his recent stand up special You Know Me on YouTube.
Fitzsimmons began stand up while earning his undergraduate degree at Boston College, as
part comedy troupe Uncontrolled Substance. Greg's father, Bob Fitzsimmons, was one
of the original presenters of orginal presenters of Good Day New York and the Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Telethon.
Greg has served as a writer on
numerous popular shows and programs, including Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher, The Ellen DeGeneres Show (Seasons
1-3), Cedric the Entertainer Presents, Lucky Louie, The Wanda Sykes Show, and Crashing (HBO). For his work on Ellen,
Fitzsimmons received 4 Daytime Emmys (Outstanding Talk Show and Outstanding Special Class
Writing in 2005 and 2006), and also received a nomination for Outstanding Special Class
Writing in 2004.
In 2010, Fitzsimmons released his first book, memoir Dear Mrs. Fitzsimmons: Tales of Redemption from an Irish Mailbox. The 231 page book
shares a collection of Greg's childhood documents, such as school disciplinary letters and
incident reports, alongside childhood stories about his upbringing in the Irish-American
Fitzsimmons family. The book contains a foreword from media personality and friend Howard
Stern.
Greg has featured as a guest on Tuesdays with Stories! with hosts Mark Normand and Joe List twice, on the latest live
